I really, REALLY thought this argument was deaded last year when I posted Kobe's career numbers against the Spurs and his series record against Timmay.
He's 4 - 2 against Timmy and the Spurs and in 2 of those series he DESTROYED the Spurs by himself! In 2001 and 2008, Kobe was CLEARLY the best player on the floor for either team. Think about that, at 21 years old he was better than Shaq, Duncan, and Robinson in that series. In 2008 the Lakers fell behind twice in the first 2 games, only for the Spurs to watch Kobe go Super Saiyan and snatch both games from them like he could just do it at will.

lol you lost the argument so you start bringing up who kobe played with as if the same arguments couldn't be made for duncan. Played with hof big men, coach, pg etc. Kobe has destroyed the spurs and nothing will change that. The spurs are just lucky kobe got injured last year or duncan would of saved some embarrassment of the finals failure for the first round. But now that we are on the playoffs, how the fukk are we gonna ignore that a duncan led team was eliminated in the first round against an 8th seed when the spurs were the 1st seed. What type of weak ass shyt was that? What type of fukking legacy is that? Has there ever been a supposed top 10 player that was the 1st seed only to get eliminated by the 8th seed? fukking embarrassing.

Duncan was hurt and manu played with a broken arm, that's why. That grizz team we played again last year and we were healthy this time, 4-0 sweep

Because he got 5 rings and 2 finals MVPs to go with it. Not 2 mention number 4 all time leader in scoring, second most all time leading scorer in a game and multiple 1st team all defensive seasons.
And is one of only 4 players with 5 or more rings and multiple final mvps, which is the true list of the nba elite

Bruh none of that shyt matters. Countless star have played with other stars and hall of famers have played with hall of famers. Yet only 4 people meet this merit in nba history.
Also did u ever watch the games Kobe was no sidekick he was basically the second best player in the league playing with shaq. And the east was extremely weak at the center position so of course he dominated the finals. Kobe was just as valuable as him during those western conference runs and Kobe is 2-1 on rings over shaq since they split and shaq went on to play with wade, lebron and pierce afterwards
U can also add number 3 all time playoff scorer on to his accomplishments also.
