This is why I can't take these so-called "Draft Experts" seriously

It's always fun to look back at these "draft experts" talk about past drafts as they happen. Check out these jewels from Bleacher Report's lead NFL Draft Scout as he reviews the 2013 NFL Draft and look forward to the 2014 NFL Draft:

1. "Minnesota had the best draft in 2013 cause they drafted Sharrif Floyd, Corderelle Patterson, and Xavier Rhodes."

2. "Jadeveon Clownley is a once in a lifetime defensive end." Oh really? And what does that make Khalil Mack?

3. "Marquis Lee is the clear-cut #1 WR for 2014 and a Julio Jones type prospect." Apparently OBJ was irrelevant at this time.

4. And by far the best line: "The Cowboys taking a third round center in Travis Fredericks in the first round is the worst pick of 2013." :mjlol:

These clowns could not be more wrong. They routinely say the best picks are the worst picks and the worst picks are the best picks.

It's a joke to listen to them at this time of the year cause they are always wrong.

The draft is an art, not a science.

But you're right, I definitely don't listen to everything this draftniks say when it comes to player analysis.

It is very hard to predict who will become a superstar or even useful when they transition from an amateur to a professional

And largely the narrative around an athlete's career is moulded by the team and system that they are sent to

I would wager a lot more athletes could be productive and even excel if they were in the right system for their skillset

But they sure do act like it is at this time of the year when they try to tell us who is a first round pick and who isn't.
That's because hey have to have content in order to be sold to advertisers and make money
There is no perfect way to get your draft picks right every time no matter what team you have and scouts all but only can assume who is good and who is bad, who got picked by the right team and who is going to pan out

Draft experts :mjlol:

At the end of the day, team's gotta make the best moves for themselves. All the experts said the Falcons taking Neal at 17 was a reach and he probably would've went in the 2nd round. He ended up being a very serviceable starter with a lot of potential moving forward.

Most scouts hate the idea of "grading" drafts, declaring winners/losers and making definitive judgments right when the draft happens.

But this is what they get paid to do. Networks and websites want you to rank/score/declare because that is what drives viewership, shares, and clicks.

I actually like Matt Miller, and think he does decent analysis, but everybody gets picks wrong. I imagine "it's always fun" because it makes the average innanet fan feel like he or she could do that person's job, when they obviously can't.

The zach martin pick was even more :mjlol: than the Frederick pick because the first thing Zach did when he got here is hurt Sean Lee and dude was out for the whole season...

Now you can make a legit argument that Frederick and Martin are the top 2 linemen in the NFL
