80 people die everyday on us roads...yet you still drive...

there arent 80 people a year that die on roller coasters...

you probably go years without getting on rollercoasters...if you get on at all...but every single day....most people are in cars
Ima let @chris dorner argue this shyt for me because I'm agreeing with most of his points on this

I usually dislike that nikka but:yeshrug:

Yeah but you have control of a car. In a roller coaster you just have to take your L, nothing you can do to try to prevent it. Once you put that seatbelt on & they start the ride, your life is 100% in the hands of the operator and the people who made sure the ride was ready for operation

You may have control of your car but Marcuz's point was that there are more people who aren't in control of theirs. For every accident you dodge there are several other people who aren't as lucky. When you drive your life isn't only in your hand it's in the hands of every other motorist surrounding you.

People die more often in cars because literally everyone uses cars :comeon: I'm pretty sure if they compared the number of people that drove in the us today and the number of people that rode roller coasters today the numbers would make sense

the numbers make perfect sense as is...my point is why worry about something you rarely even bother with and be scared of it when you take a larger chance every day driving...

and you being the rhodes scholar you seem to be :skip:...you mustve missed where i alluded to the fact that people drive everyday and rarely get on roller coasters....:sas2:

illusion of safety....the problem is you dont control the other persons car

:skip:

tell that to the people that die on these streets every day
Point is there are systems put in place, signals, signs, etc. You are in control of your vehicle, ideally, others are in control of theirs.

Maintenance workers check & test rollercoasters OFTEN. I believe they test it every day the park opens. The minute they miss something though, thats it.

Its the worse way to go out, 10 seconds into the air as you fall to your death restrained

All it takes in a car is one crying baby, one phone call, one argument, one tired driver, one drunk driver, one inexperienced driver, one person who's afraid of the road. One tire to blow, one engine to stall, moving your steering wheel one cm too far. Everything is a game of chance.
