When you say a few basics what exactly did they cover? Was it at a MMA gym or a strick BJJ dojo?
No. Grappling is mostly technique and leverage. It's only about who's heavier if both are of the same skill level. If you're 150, of course you're not gonna wanna try to pick up a man who is 250 cuz that's a waste of energy, but it's definitely possible. Using a double leg, you don't even have to lift the person up because if you do it correctly, your technique/leverage alone will already have dude off his feet, all you gotta do is duck walk, scoop the legs, drive forward with your head and he's down. Besides....arts like Judo, Jiu Jitsu...etc were designed specifically for smaller people to be able to deal with larger people in close quarter combat.

Dude clapping his hands like ol boy in this video
Wtf is the clapping for![]()
Man... my first month in a Muay Thai / BJJ gym was so fukking painful
shyt changed my life though - the power of an elbow through a weak guardTrain for just a week and you'll see how a fukked up stance may as well be a bullseye

I went through the exact same experience breh. Completely fukking humbling![]()

It's even worse when you'rethe biggest most athletic looking breh in the gym getting manhandled by manlets.
You start reaching in your pocket for lunch money off impulse
We all gotta start somewhere

First month there they had me going through warmup routines with the "junior" class. Needless to say, I wasI went through the exact same experience breh. Completely fukking humbling![]()
as fukk. I had to hold those forearm pads and basically check a 3 piece combo for 3 minutes...
this child weighed maybe 110 pounds but had a kick that felt like luggage dropped from the 4th floor. He was so fukking humble about it too. I didn't even know how to handle it. I boxed for 3 years - none of that shyt will prepare you for a kick, elbow, takedown, or any of the new stuff that's out there. the adult class? These dudes were kicking down trees i shyt you not

Gospel. I grew up in the 90s n Brooklyn. Everybody had to know how to protect themselves or else you were getting robbed, punkked, etc. Grabbing isn't new and dudes knew how to evade that.
I've been in more fights than I can count n never let someone grab me. The fukk.
I'm also never letting the person swing first if it's getting to the point where fighting is inevitable.
no lieYeah breh them leg kicks is no joke. I was training with this 300 pound nikka with the pads and he was kicking for real. After the 5th kick my thigh was throbbing, and that was with the pad blocking most of it
All it takes is 2 or 3 good leg kicks to make the average breh be like![]()
"
You ain't alone brehMy first Muay Thai class I got beat up by a girl
My first BJJ I got submitted by a girl :brehwow:
I cried in the car both times :brehwow2:
