why can't we mock the camp? it's a free country and I think the camp is ridiculous, so why can't I mock it?

can you show me the pro god threads that satisfied the HLthread requisites that were sent to he bushes?
if the thread title was simple "I hate religion" then yeah I get it

no it's not there are no principles of atheism that demand dictatorial sadism
there are religious dogma that demand belief in boogey men and complete obedience to invisible sky daddies and brainwashing

how does believing in a higher power demand that you commit atrocities and or brainwash people? It doesn't. Yet, when you pull examples of people doing those things in the name of their "sky daddy" you make the same mental leap by then equating everyone who believes in a "sky daddy" with the the same people who commit atrocities. This is the same mental leap as me saying Pol pot was an atheist ergo all atheist are pol pot.

I dont agree with it. Its pretty much the blind leading the blind. People see the name "Jesus" and believe whatever the person, group, or organization is giving without testing the spirit. So yea I definitely agree that its brainwashing but I dont believe ALL brainwashing is bad.

again it's as myopic as me saying, "Pol pot was an atheist therefore atheism is evil as well" (which i don't believe just fyi)

so if you follow the conversation i said people were myopic for pointing to a camp and saying this is Christianity. Then I likened that comparison to me equating the acts of Pol Pot to the intentions of all atheist...again to simply point out the lack of certain people to divorce themselves from an all or nothing view on Christianity...particularly when they can see the nuance in other things.

This thread wasn't about god at first, it was about a camp. So it stuck around for a bit. Then it became about god and more aptly it became a pissing on people's beliefs thread. There's a place for that. It's the Freespeach sub forum.
