pump isn't doing anything we haven't seen or heard before and if you're listening to a lil pump album with headphones on your an idiot, if you haven't gone to a good live show you wont get pumps music style.

I wrote a little think piece about him on another forum, since there's this thread I don't think it needs a separate special one here for the writing, but here are my thoughts on Lil Pump

Contrary to popular disbelief, Lil Pump has already garnered a good amount of success and will only strive to do so in the imminent future. Although his highest Billboard sittings currently "only" include the 19th spot in the Streaming Songs Charts, 13th spot in the Hot Rap Songs Charts and the 52nd spot in the Billboard Hot 100, all with the song Gucci Gang, his placements on the charts made 20-30 position jumps up the charts since last week's first entry. Add that to the fact the Youtube and Soundcloud numbers for his songs all rake up extremely high - 61 million views 37 million views 31 million views - the firm possibility of him gaining more commercial success as time passes is surely affirmed. With all this exposure and his musical style, vocal turmoil comes naturally, but pure hatred is unjustified, here's why.

Lil Pump is fruition of precise observation of popular Hip-Hop and listener's behavior. In the age of uber quick exchange of information and the brevity of products, making music with the same fashionable stylistic features but only 2 minutes short and extremely repetitive is the perfect formula to break through charts and speakers. On his songs, Pump catches the pocket with his flow and through long-lasting repetitions never loses it or hops out of it slightly, forming each song to be as catchy and easy to rap along to as the next. What seems to be music that's especially catering to be enjoyed under the influence, is being criticized for it's very nature. The lack of creativity and versatility are often the points of negative review when in reality neither of any of those characteristics take a slight thing from the thrill and enjoyment Pump's music provides on a 120-second-long basis. In fact, the oversimplification, which is a point of critique as well, is one of the dear reasons why his songs work so easily.

Artistry comes in many forms and shapes, and music is dynamically stationed under the umbrella of art, but in the context of popularity it doesn't hesitate to branch out, sacrificing some of the valuable facets of artistry with the sole purpose of reaching out to as many as possible and simply entertain.

all pump needs now is a hit banger like no hands by waka flocka
