This Lupe x Kendrick thing has been brewing for a good year now....

His rhyme structure, rhyme patterns and flows are great. Its undeniable. His ability to speak on a variety of topics and keep it cohesive and making sense is great. Lupe prides himself on being someone whos rhymes cant be understand. Struggle metaphors. He cant find the line between complex and familiarity because he reaches when hes constructing his rhymes. He just finds a way to make it sound like it makes sense even though its all a reach.

But there is one thing that Lupe won't ever do, and that' is to display as much passion and energy and an energetic passionate flow like Kendrick.
Kendrick may not go in lyrically like Lupe, but Lupe doesn't go in energy and flow wise like Kendrick.

I dont have time for puzzles and riddles. I need a balance and Kendrick provides that so i will root for him over Lupe. His beat selection is better also. Lupe squandered all his potential on trash production so i cant tolerate listening to him anymore. That slr2 was trash to me. Showing that you can imitate someone else and trying to demean their style really means nothing. He sounded terrible trying to sound like Kendrick so he needs to not do that again.

Lupe as of late is priding himself on how bored he is with rap. How hes going to retire off a handful of lackluster albums. WHO DOES THAT. Like he can just so whatever he wants and its goin to be dope with that lazy voice of his. You're dead on with this. Kendrick really believes in his words and that passion combined with skill and concepts is another reason why i like his music a lot.

better music than lupe, what like black boy fly? poetic justice? he has yet to even become comparable to lupe's catalogue, that's what u nikkas not getting. lupe has handfulls of classic songs under his belt, with rarely any features. jay elect sounds nothing like lupe, nor is lupe's flow lazy. he's proven himself to have multiple kinds of flows (see "Switch" for example)

what are performance chops? i don't see how you can call kendrick a more complete mc than lupe breh... lupe is literally looking down on that clown.

like seriously, listening to "Say Something" while reading the lyrics - you'll actually get a high from how nasty & deep this nikka lupe can get
