nikkas gettin mad over Kylie Jenner and cultural appropriation, Bieber and whoever else hijacking our swag, etc. White women talkin bout Black features are great but not Black people SMH. It's always somethin. We're the lifeblood of what makes the world interesting. Cops killin us like it aint shyt. Something new against us every gotdamn day!

I'm bout done stressin over the injustices done to us Black folk. We're a country within a country.

The power is in the MONEY. Start supporting each other, spend money on OURSELVES and people will start catering to you because MONEY IS POWER. Have we learned nothing from the Montgomery bus riots?!! :mindblown: Even the most racist state will sit their ass down and rock with us once they stop gettin our bread.

The "talented tenth/militants" aint enough. Do we need to put it in subtitles or something?! Dr. Claude Anderson gave us the blueprint of what to do and we're still second class citizens in a country we helped build. Our lives aint worth shyt to them because we could turn it around tomorrow if we all got on the same page.

Finished stressing over the injustices brought to us when we'd rather march, write stories/news clips about our struggle and Black Twitter our way into "awakening" people. :camby:

Control our money and keep it in house, or shut the fukk up. Drive a lil further to support the Black gas station instead of spending it with the Arabs. Until that, we deserve what we get. It's me and my fam and fukk the rest. I'm done worrying about why we get the shaft when we really could be self sufficient.

nonsense...

Part of the work is speaking up though.

Let's not be stupid and pretend cultural swagger jacking and the white supremacist standards of beauty are not two of many things worth addressing.

"Getting active" requires people knowing what they should even be getting active about. Awareness doesn't manifest itself through anything but education.

A large portion of black people in this country aren't even aware of the nuances that go into their oppression. Let's not skip steps here.

So they jack our swag. What does that tell you?

That we are their source. The question is how to use that to our advantage and stay steps ahead of them.

How do we lead them to where we want to go?

Speak thru the steps we are taking.

No black is going to do anything you guys spout if they're not conscious.

This.

"Militancy" or however people negatively want to dog whistle whats been going on in the black community is not the worst thing to happen to the community. Its actually a good thing people are discussing it and getting frustrations out. Discussing it allows people to discover people like Claude Anderson, cause Im pretty sure you need to be somewhat conscious or care about black issues to even know who he is. Once people get passed that stage and people get tired of being frustrated, building will occur and hopefully it wont be on a "faulty foundation" as it has in the past

I don't understand the goal of a lot of the posters on this site.
Do they really think that they're going to make the big changes they want for black America happen by being so exclusionary and dismissive of all other ideologies?
You don't win people over by telling them they're living their entire lives wrong and you need to hate gays, hate people in interracial relationships, say cac, hate white people and Mexicans and Asians, have my view of history etc etc.
You win people over by doing good works for them to emulate, not insulting them for being ignorant but by giving them the information required for them to come to the conclusion you think that they should, not by going full Kufi and being off putting but reasonable and open about a history they haven't discovered, by presenting group economics as a reasonable process practiced by other groups and possible to achieve with tangible benefits and not some type of segregationist or back to Africa thing because it won't jive with most people, by not trivializing black women interested in black women issues or black women in feminist movements but by being open and seeing their points and not trying to diminish their work down to the influence of white women, by yes talking about cultural appropriation but when it's actually offensive and harmful towards people but not something as trivial as slang (excluding nikka) or a certain way of dress (that's not offensive) or music (when it's not offensive or harmful or something) because no matter how strong you believe in whatever you believe about it the vast majority of people don't and won't come to care unless you're focusing on things they can't easily dismiss or something, by not trying to push some sort of racial superiority towards other groups that I see people doing here under the guise of self love which should really be based off of appreciation for yourself and acknowledgment of who you are, not who you think you're better than, etc etc.
Of course that's not completely true, you can bank on this stuff and try to scare people, whip them into a frenzy, and to full militant but the key to a real long lasting social movement that won't fizzle out into small sects is compromise and balance which I fear most people here don't seem to understand.
But what do I know I'm a cac c00n who's going to get negged for this post probably :francis:

Lack of education and knowledge of our history is how they keep us down. "Bread and circuses"
Welfare and reality shows

We need to educate the people, especially of propaganda and micro aggressions.

We need to be less reliant on their media and use our own which is why youtube, Twitter and tumblr have helped spread information and network to make a difference. Social media is a great tool. The coli counts as social media.

We also need to take care of our own. Give back to our community.
It can be something small.

Whenever my mom needed to clean her house or her closets she'd get the neighbors daughter or someone else in the community. And of the clothes she didn't want, they got to keep for themselves and their family. Hire black kids in the community to cut grass, shovel snow. Teach them the value of hard work. Give back and mentor.

A lot of kids don't know any more than then what they see around them. They don't think a positive future is available to them.
