Everyone saying that Kendrick wouldn't be getting attention in the 90's is offbase imo...GKMC would be considered classic in any era...I can't in good conscious say that it would "just be another album" if it dropped in the 90's..The album is in a class with Death Certificate and Aquemini...I been listening to hip hop since 1987...Albums like that are rare no matter what era you wanna bring up...

Nah can't fully agree wit this g..it would be considered another good album...it wouldn't be considered wack by any means but nikkas wouldn't be actin like its the best shyt since sliced bread...especially considering the nikka don't even really have an original flow thru the whole shyt...especially considering how many completely original nikkas nicer than him before him who dropped better albums that still didnt get this groundbreaking classic status...

New rappers are soft fakkits who put too much gay lines in their songs for me to listen to more than once. I stopped listening to mainstream rap on the regular after 2006.

Drake gonna make Kendrick look real stupid when he responds and also a snake for biting the hand that fed him

Yeah. IF Drake responds...its a wrap.

People who are paying attention know this.

People keep sleeping on drake and how calculated that dude is...yet people don't give him props when he rises above the bar and continues to shyt on the next guy.

Just cause there is no gun talk or description of selling drugs, does not mean that they are "soft" or wack. In the Historic Hip Hop sense, this era is a kind of payback of the gangsta rap era that lasted from 88-07 which a lot of the street rappers never dropped the potential classics that they were capable of.

Lol @ this bullshyt. The vast majority of the classic albums in those years were gangsta rap albums.

Yep, but how many of them have fans to this day? Only a handful. Many of those vets are laughed at and even forgotten. shyt, the over-excessive use of gangsta rap worn down its impact and played it out. At this point, aggressive conscious rap like Public Enemy has a better chance of coming back than gangsta rap.

Rap at this moment has upped the bars and quality of music. Classics will drop again.

We have to stop comparing these new rappers to the GOATs we grew up on, because one of

their verse can't hold a candle to one of the GOATs bars. What KDOT did is something to marvel

at, because he's the only new established rapper to napalm the game in such a way, you'd think it was Dec.4 2001 all over again:youngsabo:
what kendrick did was extra corny. when shyne dismissed him,he responded as a polite, peaceful choir boy. But now he gets gully toward his "friends" PU-BLI-CI-TY STUNT. And he aint shyt, where are his dope flagship songs that real great rappers typically leave behind?

There's good rappers still, but you gotta realize that there's so much commercialism in rap because it became a cash cow business and because of that it turned the listeners impressionable, so people who aren't that talented get shine. Plenty of talent, just a lot more traffic now, don't be a "stuck in the 90s nikka".

If you're in the hood you know gangsta rap never left, it just lost the ears of suburbia and college campuses. And you're first statement is just plain stupid(and you make a habit of making those), how many fans has public enemy got compared to jeezy in this day and age? Ratio of like 1:100000 judging from recent album sales. ''Only a handful'' of rappers have longevity period and lets look at the ones who do, Nas, Jay, Snoop, Wayne...Hmm. The last line is meant to imply what? Gangsta rappers don't got bars? try to compile a top 10 without a gangsta rapper :heh: Still acting like Gangsta rappers haven't dropped a multitude of classics, fucc outta here nikka. you on some real revenge of the nerds type shyt right now with these irational claims about big bad gangsta rap:heh:

this shyt really wrestling to these nikkaz, lmao lyrical rapper would be getting the shyt beat out them on a daily basis, trap rappers dont care about no competition

Why would they be getting "the shyt beat out them"? It's just rap, why would there be a need to get physical? I don't see Kendrick getting the shyt beat out of him for mentioning any of those other grown ass men. Get out of here, you think this shyt is more wrestling than you claim to if that's your train of thought. :mjpls:

I dont think thats necessary tho. There has always been goon rap since Mc Eiht. And nobody is saying Gucci Mane is the GOAT. But nikkas like Drake are supposed to be the best. But they aren't really displaying the skills to back it up.

No one is saying that the two styles can't co-exist. What I am suggesting is that if Kendrick called out the rappers I mentioned it would be more entertaining IMHO. Fans of Chief Keef etc would be forcefully exposed to Kendrick because it would be getting a ton of buzz and create a greater dialouge among Hip-Hop listeners across the board/genre.

With the same punchline "Trying to make your core fans not want to hear from you nikkas" that would be wild entertaining because it's not like those rappers I mentioned do much for their core fans besides shyt on them anyway. :pachaha:

It would be fun as hell to see all the reactions because all the dudes that Kendrick DID name, he shares their fanbases anyway. Let's be honest here.

Nobody who fukks with Keef hardbody would ever become a serious Kendrick fan out of the blue. I am sure there are people who listen to both, but if Chief Keef is one of your favorite artists you probably HATE rippity rap or only take it in small doses. Kendrick going after the folks he shares fans with makes more sense because they are the ones more likely to appreciate the kind of competition he is calling for.
