troy ave is riding off of hatin on "weirdos" he goes after easy targets, he knows damn well hed never call any rapper from the 90's who didn't fit into "gangsta rap" and spit mostly coke rhymes weirdos

his "anti-weirdo REAL ny rap" shtick is going to hurt him more than help him. he boxed himself in as being looked at as a "jealous, salty NY rapper mad about others success". NY can ride with him, but that don't mean people outside the tri-state care. hip hops consumer fanbase is bigger than ny's co sign.

Typical NYC rapper tryna talk his way to success instead of actually putting in work. He acts like he made it already, so why should anyone new support him right?

"During the interview, Troy Ave went on to detail his appreciation for Rick Ross and spoke again on his view of street Rap. “The essence of Rap is the streets, period,” he said. “From Kurtis Blow with a fukking jheri curl, he was [rapping] some street shyt. KRS-One, rapping some street shyt. So street Rap always reigns supreme. Now you got the other sub-genres of Rap that need to be classified instead of bunching everything up together...I don’t give a fukk about weirdo Rap, I know what I’m doing, and I represent the highest of the fukking food chain of Rap, and that’s street Rap. That’s what I’m putting on."

Troy Allegedly

it's not like he's hiding his influences...he constantly says he wants to bring back the feeling of the G-Unit/Dipset era.
its makes a change from people saying they "want to bring back that 90's feel".

he's putting in work and the soundbites he gives off, he knows will they get him attention.
it's been done before, but its working for him so he's not bothered..his arrogance is hilarious though.

says the dude bunching everything he doesn't like together as weirdo rap.. mos def, digable planets, kendrick, asap, chance.. all weirdo rap. yet all of they are all completely different.

his idea of "weirdo rap" = shyt i don't like

prior to the "skirt" thing with Mos Def (which this was said before that) how is he weirdo rap?

troy ave just comes off like a salty dude mad hes been trying to get on for 10 years and is less than papoose level in terms of popularity.

You know why the love me?
They think like me
Even after I play basketball they smell like me"

"nikka we the same, come from the same corners, we ain't have much"

There's a whole bunch of nikkas acting like 50 in NY
