What I didnt like about That DOC is that it made the NOI look like a bunch of directionless, docile , small nikkahs untll Malcolm X came in and turned the group into a franchise. Fukk that bullshyt. I would assume that this is indisputable at this point. I heard mad 1st hand accounts from my elders that lived in Harlem during those times. He was the vehicle that drove the growth because of his gift for gab and devotion to the cause. People were drawn to him because they said you can feel that he believed everything he said to his core. When he didn't believe it anymore, he couldn't rock the same with them and we know how the rest of the story goes.

Word. If we put it in sports terms, he was to the NOI what Jordan was to the NBA.

We are in a post-mainstream media era in a sense because everybody has a platform so there are no more barriers to entry or gatekeepers. It's easy for bullshyt to get amplified because social media has been fine tuned to illicit emotional responses to an issue rather than an informed one. People feel strongly about a topic one way or another and pass along the headline as fact without providing context or scratching the surface.
