I'm Indian. I'm of a brown hue, similar and even darker then some blacks, but I'm clearly not black, bone structure, nose, hair texture.

I've seen some East Africans who could pass for dark-skinned Indians like this Somali guy at work, he has straight hair, pointy nose ect. I can usually spot black people from that region as they have distinct look from most other Africans.

I want your privileges? I'm all for a level playing field rather than wishing to join a privileged group and shyt on another group. Surely if I wanted to be anything other than black in the West I'd want to be white? That comes with more benefits than any other group.

um, i think you're mistaken, my dark-skinned breh. i placed those terms in quotes, as i don't view being mixed/light skinned as a privilege at all. i'm just saying that people like you and others who would exclude those of us who identify as "black" come across as sour that you can't enjoy the so-called "privilege" that you think mixed people are rewarded with. read through this thread and others like it, where people will say that mixed blacks are treated "better" than so-called "pure" blacks. i'm not the one claiming it - you and your ilk are.
