Basically people look too deep into this shyt and make it more than it is.....Let's just agree its stupid to say "I don't like darkskin" "I don't like lightskin"...becuz if u black 9 times outta 10 its overstatement not meant to be taken literally.....I say I don't like yellow women but all I'm sayin is I don't prefer women that are extra lightskin...u a damn fool if u think I'm sayin it ain't no pale black chicks out there that pull it off and wouldn't fuk with.....its probaly just a bad choice of words and we should just start sayin "we prefer darkskin" or "we prefer lightskin" instead of puttn one shade down to express or preference of the other....cuz at the end of the day if u attracted to other black people its a 99% chance u gon run into sumbody of the shade u claim to "not like" that u are attracted too.

The archetype thing is false. Don't be fooled. Most white men don't want them and they believe that light skin brothers won't give them a chance. Many date dark because they feel they have no choice.

The only men who pride themselves in the "Wesley Snipes made us look cool" are men who are also insecure as well and need validation for their skin tone.

There is a reason most black women straighten their hair, wear weave, always claim to be Native American and all that other stuff. The reason is that deep down inside they don't really like being black. That is the reason they always praise people with "good hair" light eyes and light skin. This affects how they feel about men too but they only admit it behind close girls to their friends and fam.

You're right about how some black girls claim to be of other races, but maybe it's some deeper psychological shyt going on with some of them.....especially in regards to light skinned men.


Maybe some of them are so delusional, they can't stand being with a light skinned man because it reminds them of how "black" they really are?Some times, you have cross gender jealousy.I see it with my niece and nephew all the time.My niece is dark skinned and my nephew is of mixed race.Half black and half mexican.

My nephew is a lil pretty boy.Hair all the way down to his back.My niece on the other hand, has a real difficult time growing any hair at all.She even told my sister that she was jealous of my nephew because he was "prettier" than her.I guess when they're out & about, people come up to my nephew and say "oh he's so cute", but totally forget about my niece.shyt like that can fukk with a young childs psyche.


My niece even got in trouble for trying to cut my nephews hair off.She's only 7, but she already resents his "pretty light skinned ass" features.He somehow makes her feel inadequate and it makes her a lil hostile towards him.



It's a lot of grown ass black women walking around with that same mentality.It's like they have a disgust for light skinned dudes because in some twisted, invalid way, he's "prettier" than she is.You know how they say "nobody wants to be the bad person in a relationship"? I guess when it comes to SOME black folks "nobody wants to be the dark(black) person in the relationship".......shyt is sick, but it's out there.

I find light skinned dudes don't really care about a girls skintone most times...it's usually dark skinned men (in my experience) that have a preference for lighter women.

But I can only speak for myself...my first love had skin that looked like dark chocolate glazed with honey and sprinkled with gold fine as hell.

This is the main reason we should uplift our kids and tell them how beautiful they are no matter what shade or gender. Make them embrace their natural beauty so they won't grow up repeating this messed up behavior.

Majority of the women involved in those studies were white women. Their definition of dark is someone who is tan like Johnny Depp and they were never oppressed. Black women have been oppressed and it shows.
