Majority of the women involved in those studies were white women. Their definition of dark is someone who is tan like Johnny Depp and they were never oppressed. Black women have been oppressed and it shows.

So women prefer light skinned men, but theres no way to prove it because they hide it and pretend to prefer dark skinned men

It goes beyond the hood. Middle class and educated women just know how to hide it well but they feel the same way. Most of my family are middle class and my friends are college educated but they still say the same things.

see what im talking about? the african is on a majority black website calling you and your black friends ugly. at the same time though, hes married to that big ol pale white thang (like we aint seen her picture before). hes living down to the "black man can only get white women that white men dont want" stereotype to the letter, but somehow he done convinced himself that he AINT tommy sotomayor's biggest supporter. hes typing one thing but his actions tell the real truth, dont they?.
I pointed out proof,women change they hair to whatevers popular at the time....don't get me wrong at sum point it probaly wuz done by black women to appear more white possibly but its 2012....its done now bcuz mothers been straightenin out they daughters hair for years cuz they mother did....u can't call it self hate when its bein done out of tradition and bcuz uve been taught that's the way its suppoed to be....there's no concious effort to be less black NOW when its bein done overall imo.
No difference then men gettin they hair cut every week or 2 bcuz growin up that's what I did as a kid,and I wuz taught it looked bad to have ya hairline non crispy,and I needed a haircut when it got wild
....don't mean I won't rock a afro cuz I have,or wont wear braids cuz I have,or dreads cuz I have.....there's no self hate involved we just goin by what we wuz taught...u can put the insecurities and sins of the grandmothers and mothers on the daughters....its not as if when mothers sit down to hot comb they daughters hair they give hate lessons,and tell them "your hair needs to look more white"....the daughter don't know why its bein doone and the mother a lot. Of the time don't have a reason for doin it other than her mama straightened hers out..Compare it to soulfood,they say its slop givin to us as slaves that we fixed up and made taste good...so maybe slaves liked it bcuz they were forced too,but we eat it and luv it now bcuz its been passed down from generation to generation....maybe we shouldn't like it bcuz where it comes from but we been eatin it and it taste good to me too damnit
And I don't like/prefer lightskin women bcuz at a certain level its a look of sickness to me like they pale, and sumtimes when they mixed especially they features can come off a little too "white".....but again there are sum that pull it off so that I've had it bad for so its a stupid statement to make that "I don't like" and I should just say what I prefer,meaning it would be harder or rarer for a real lightskin woman to attract me....that's another thing peoples defnitions of lightskin/darkskin vary from black person to black person

There is definitely a conscious effort. It might not look that way to you because you are a man but every month when that natural hair starts to grow out, women use all types of negative words to describe their real natural hair. they hate it. They want to get rid of it as quick as they can because it makes them look more black.
