On the show they talk in code a lot and often they triple up the code so you really got to pay attention and not get distracted
When Cam was talking about playing in NE for Bill it’s something that Chad and Fred did as well and it was obvious they weren’t feeling Brandon talking about having Josh McDaniels in Denver. McDaniels is probably the best coach that came under Bill but there’s a major difference between playing for the man and on his team. When Cam was using the gas station metaphor it was about how he got left behind in the language there plus add in Covid it made things difficult but the most telling part was Cam talking about how the Panthers tried to end his career by not releasing or trading him earlier because by the time he got released in March the amount of teams he could’ve gone to was down to two the Chargers and Patriots.
At times Brandon Marshall gets brain locked on bullshyt and it ruins the flow of the whole show especially like the time he was telling Chad that his career ended over his diet when it really ended when he head butted Evelyn Lozada worst of all when it happened his team was on Hard Knocks so the world saw when the team brought him in to release him.
ESPN had a show called Playmakers that the NFL made them shut down because I watched it and played sports (not at the pro level but I talked to those guys the stories you hear are wild) I know what they mean when they talk in code. For example you would think that if you had a Chad Johnson type receiver you would feed them the ball often but nope there are directives from the top to limit how often certain guys can get plays to just later pay them less even though the owners are billionaires, the coaches multi millionaires, the team presidents multi millionaires, and the staff millionaires (on average the NFL players aren’t millionaires)
A great example is when the Seahawks didn’t run the ball in the Super Bowl what people fail to mention is that the Seahawks were up 16 points and should not have even been in that situation.
I’ll use another example of logic not being in sports over money in the NBA the vet minimum is like 1.8 million you would think a young team would give a vet that to be a leader and teach the youngins but no that 1.8 million can get you at max three young g-league cats not even as good as the vet with the wildest part being that none of those guys would get play time. The way salary cap sports work is wild and the stories of back in the day is crazy for example some how Chris Webber was able to opt out after his rookie deal and become a free agent and that’s how he ended up a Wizard. The NBA of course got rid of that so now rookies are locked into four year contracts that once the four years are over they are still restricted meaning any offers they get their team can match so what that leads to is guys resigning on an extension. Most times the extension is three years so after seven years they have unrestricted free agency where they the player can choose where they want to go.
I love the Coli so I’m going to write one last thing this is going to be about Kevin Durant before Kevin even got drafted the Seattle SuperSonics traded Ray Allen a vet in his twelfth year averaging 26 points per game. The team got sold and moved to OKC. Kevin Durant was 20 years old. The first two years KD’s coach was a man named PJ Carlesimo he wanted KD at Shooting Guard. PJ is known for getting choked out by Latrell Sprewell. The next coach they hired Scott Brooks a man who never was a coach before he was around 2008 to 2015. The coach after him was Billy Donovan a man who was very successful in College but never coached a pro team before. The Front office was made up of guys from the Spurs( very similar to the whole I learned from Bill but you not Bill tho and it’s not Bill’s city anyway example from the I Am Athlete) with guys still there to this day. This is just discussing the front office and coaches. Mind you this in the Western Conference where Kobe Bean ( Jah bless the dead) was in his prime, Tim Duncan in his prime, Steve Nash was in his prime, and Dirk in his prime. Now I’ll list some all stars Carmelo, Deron Williams, Chris Paul, Pau Gasol, and Manu. This is before the rise of the Warriors. KD was a four time scoring champion, multi time all NBA, and multiple time all star. The team drafted a few great players in Westbrook, Harden, and Ibaka that pushed them to the finals after they lost the OKC front office gave Harden an hour to agree to contract before trading him to the Rockets. In the first season without Harden they met him in the first round of the Playoffs where Russ tore his meniscus because a dirty play. Every year the team had injures in the playoffs despite that only once was he knocked out of the first round. The team that beat him either won the championship or lost to the team that won the championship. After that he’s unloyal to OKC ?
