What's funny is that at the time he said it, the WWE wasn't anywhere near mediocre....that promo happened pretty much at the height of the Attitude era, when wrestling's mainstream appeal was at an all-time high thanks to Austin, Rock, DX, nWo and others

He needs to do that promo today

He was trying to get heat so he was saying the exact opposite of how things were going at the time. But sadly now it's all come true. :mjcry:

Nah, this was pretty scripted. It was the Taker promo that got him heat. He would just randomly shoot promos on folks. Taker didn't know his was coming. Think they also stopped it after that one too.



Taker's story was mad random, yet did way more to establish a character than 95% of promos today :mindblown:
