Imagining wiping common area surfaces down. Cleaning the countertops, and toilet. Mopping the bathroom floor, and shower, then running a black light over the bed and noticing the hotel didn't thouroughly clean up after somebody did their best Peter North impression or bed bugs ...Only to call down, change rooms and do it all over again in another room 
I definitely take my own pillow cases and towels but I tend to pay extra for immaculate hotels and they are pretty much up there in terms of cleanliness
