This reminds me of Bret Hart/Lex Luger all over again

Remember when Yokozuna was champ. They tried so hard to push Luger as the next big thing. But BRet hart was the guy everyone wanted as champion. At mania it finally happened. Fast forward to today. they are trying to push Roman Reigns as the next big thing Yet Ambrose is probably the top face in WWE right now. The only issue i have with Ambrose is that i rarely see those 5 star matches to solidify him as champ.

I get why people jump to make this comparison, but it's really only the same on the surface. Even during Lex's whole push, Bret was portrayed as THE GUY and real champion by the fans and announcers. He was basically above the WWF Championship during Lex's big push. Not like he was being held back or "he's the guy the fans REALLY want" kind of deal at all. It's closer to the Roman/Cena relationship, where Cena is clearly still the big guy and star even if he's not in the title picture.

People also tend to forget that Lex actually was very over, but he kind of got fukked when he beat Yoko by count out and they celebrated like he won the title at WM.

Reigns ain't the next top babyface, but Ambrose shouldn't be either.

Dude can't carry the torch like that.They need to just release Balor on the main roster and put the rocket on him.
