Uber already has self driving cars. They only require a driver in the seat for advanced safety precautions, not even basic safety but advanced safety.

I watched like a 30 minute video on them I'm pretty sure they were in Cleveland or Cincinnati or some shyt, it might be on YouTube.

Breh Uber themselves said the shyt is at least a decade away. Also, Uber is getting sued by Google for basically hiring someone who used to work for Google who took some intellectual property pertaining to self driving cars. They are going to lose lawsuit.

I know the technology and shyt is there I saw the nikka in the car. He typed the address in GPS, the shyt pulled out, parallel parked, I wanna say it stopped in the road when they set up a mock road barrier. All the dude in the front seat was doing was narrating. They did say it would be a while if ever that they'd launch because there's kinks to work out, i.e. how you gonna have/ pay to have someone sit and ride around in a car all day.

Oh yea, how'd it deal with inclement weather? Weird construction detours? Is it avoiding potholes?

The technology has come a long way for controlled situations, which is the bulk of the driving, but there's a lot to iron out on that front as well.

These are exactly some of the things I saw in the video. They were driving on like a mock freeway that had construction and a barrier it detected the barrier and it slowed down and went to the right or whatever. Ill try to find the video on YouTube. I used to work for an IT company and the video was about innovation and technology. To me it was just another boring video we had to watch at a meeting but when they actually showed the real cars in motion and shyt I was like :whoo:. I was just expecting a concept car drawing or computer Sim, but nah they had a real car in legit motion.

It was cool but not that distant because most new cars have these features. Cars that can parallel park themselves, can detect if your swerving out of your lane, have the detectors that can tell if your going to back up into something or if you're about to rear-end another driver, cars that Auto correct for hydroplaning, and icy road conditions, wipers that come on automatically when the windscreen gets wet. These little pieces of technology are slowly becoming the standard in new cars. The Uber cars just have all of them and a little more from what I saw.

Like I said the dude typed in a location on GPS, the car pulled itself out and started Rollin, dude was just in the driver's seat for the ride.

Controlled mock situations don't cover all situations is what I'm getting at. Some construction zones are very well marked and easy for driverless cars to navigate. Others are not, especially where there's a police officer present directing traffic.

And when I'm talking about inclement weather, I'm not talking about hydroplaning. I'm talking about heavy rain or snow or dirt blocking the cameras.

Tesla has a "hop in the car, get to the destination without human interaction" video too. They set up mock barriers which it overcomes. It's impressive. It still ain't ready for primetime, tho.
