I think it's just the way the trailer is cut. The tone is super serious. It's like the opposite of The Sopranos. At least I hope that's the case. Even at its darkest and most violent the show was never as action packed or bleak as that trailer.

I'll watch but my expectations are zero. I will say this tho: Gandolfi's son looks just like him and seems like a good actor too.

Don't really like the way the trailer was cut - it's put together like a comic book origin story - but it's there for hype so I get it. The main takeaway I have is that the castings look pretty good to me, Tony included, and having Chase on board means I will go in with some optimism.

I wish it were a mini-series instead of a movie though.

Yeah I wonder if they'll describe Tony's crew i.e Jackie, Sil and Ralphie again slight retconning but when Ralph described the card game heist he said they were doing scams since high school but in the trailer Tony said I can't be stealing I'm about to go to College shyt to keep it real Carmella was his high school sweetheart too.

The Sopranos were pretty good at keeping a storyline straight superfans are gonna pick this apart.

That's what Made all decent Mob Movies good, the dark humor not necessarily the action. The only negative especially non Godfather flicks where the focus was on the local crews not the bosses is that they made it seem like the Mob dudes where damn near infallible when it came to crime, and no hanger on really considered not being in the Mob.
The only one that came close to an Italian Boyz in the Hood was A Bronx Tale.

Lil Gandolph is gonna sink this whole project. I get wanting to keep some continuity between how Tony looks but sometimes you just gotta hire the best actor for the role and deal with the few people who care that the prequel actor looks nothing like the main.
Coli can't even do this for Black actors breh :whoa:

Ok so it's not just me.

Well that was kinda vague because dikkie was described as Tony's "hero" and we know from the flashback at the Carnival that at that time Tony had no idea that Johhny Boy was even in the Mob. I mean maybe he played ball with Tony but so did Junior and Tony didn't really fukk with him.

The shyt ain't perfect, maybe they should've focused on dikkie and made Tony a background character I'm sure everyone wants to know who really killed dikkie and why.
