Stripper culture used to be black girl lost status in east coast hip hop, but popular in the south
Now a days like 50% of the NYC album release parties are in strip clubs

The entire strip club culture used to be a southern thing with black folks. Thanks to Jermaine Dupri, that stripper shyt is now the norm. He was the one that shouted Magic City back in the day, and once the internet and the south blew up with the stripper hoes in their videos, everything broke loose. Now these thots think that they are bigger than rappers themselves and think that by having followers, they can run everything. :snoop:

What's new is these clowns giving them hoes a name by shouting them out like they are celebrities. On top of that they brag about how much money they trick off, that shyt is crazy. Back in the days a how was a hoe and she remained ananomous. You can tell a lot of these nikkas never had bytches before the fame. It is disgusting.

That's a whole 'nother thread/argument though....
Well I'm not arguing with you cause I'm a 93 baby but would you say that even with records getting broken in in strip clubs back then, there was still a way broader soundscape to succeed outside the strip club than today? I'm just saying this cause I'm an aspiring artist myself and it appears to be no strip clubs = no shot.

I disagree. Now you won't ever be a Drake with out a super stripper anthem that gets 1,000 spins a week but I think there is a lane for not strip club anthems. Currensy for example has a nice lane making laid back music to smoke to.

Most artists starve regardless of trends though. I :salute: you for sticking with it.

It relates to this thread. There are kids as young as 7 having them stripper songs in their birthday parties. The strip club culture was better when it was underground

True, it does in a sense if we are talking about these songs not necessarily being strip club songs but just over the top sexually. They are getting away with saying things more out in the open but sex has been selling in music forever. We just don't use crappy metaphors and loose wording like 'All I wanna do is stick my zoom zoom in your boom boom' anymore.

I thought we were talking about only songs that would play in a strip club not raunchy tracks. If I missed the premise, my bad.
