Because anybody that has been paying attention and being honest is not surprised. He's doing what he's always done...same shyt that made nikkas say he was worthy of the contract and now after half a season nikkas are turning on him . You are bemoaning intellectual dishonesty and inconsistency and agendas when those are the very things responsible for him getting the deal in the first place.

Tom Haberstro just posted about how Wade, Whiteside and Bron had the highest PER of all East Conference players and what might have been. The thing everyone is saying now is where was a center like this during Bron's 4 years. Not that it would make a difference, who knows if Spo would have played him.

Keep in mind though again, the general concensus was the big 3 had that meeting after the finals to agree on reduced contracts and that Riles was gonna pitch at Lowry, Deng Gasol (who supposedly was going to come). Of course shyt changed when Bron basically came out and said he wanted a max contract went red and Van Gundy blew up free agency with the cash thrown at Meeks and them.

So while I agree had he looked at the current roster and there was no upside given how well Wade and Bosh played now, you have Whiteside and then whatever Pat can do, the plan would have improved in theory the team.

But again, I think Bron just could not take the pressure and scrutiny about chasing titles and re-wrote his narrative. So even if the team was good (and they would have been) it would have made no difference cause people would have expected them to go to a 5th straight final.

You're right. I never thought about what they could have done in free agency with a committed LeBron. Had they gotten Gasol then yeah we'd be having a much different conversation
