Rob Kardashian is basically an entirely different man from the one that we knew in 2015, and his fiancée Blac Chyna has been a big part of that transformation.
After shunning the spotlight for years, the Keeping Up with the Kardashiansstar began started coming out of his shell again once Chyna came into his life. These days, he seems happier and more outgoing than ever.
She got him back in the gym.
In April, Kardashian vowed to let Chyna train him every day in preparation for her May 11 birthday following his years-long weight struggle and diabetes diagnosis.
The model, 28, put him to work on the treadmill and Stairmaster, chronicling the workouts on Snapchat.
"Looking from where I started 298 lbs. to my current weight now 248.4 lbs. I'm focused and determined to reach my goal weight 200-205 lbs. Happy I found my motivation," Kardashian, 29, captioned an Instagram picture after he started his fitness journey.
She inspired his return to social media.
Despite being a member of one of the world's most social-media savvy families, Kardashian was noticeably inactive on the Internet in the months leading up to his relationship with Chyna. Since he returned to Instagram in January, his account has basically become a Blac Chyna fan page filled with adoring pics and gushy captions about the star. Kardashian has even entered the wild world of Snapchat and his stories frequently have a heavy Chyna presence.
Kardashian's sisters Kim and Khloé discussed their surprise with his new-found web life on a May episode of KUWTK. "Don't we kind of think it's a miracle that Rob, who doesn't even show up to Christmas for the past three years, literally – he wouldn't leave his room. But the fact that now he's created a Snapchat, the fact that he wants to be so public blows my mind," said Khloé, 31.
"If she gave him confidence, more power to her," replied Kim, 35. "After Rob and Blac Chyna started dating, Rob is now like all over social media and like out and about," she added in an interview.
She helped him become an emoji.
Becoming a shareable animation definitely isn't an everyday experience, especially for a former recluse. Now, thanks to Chymojis, fans can text images of him watching Chyna twerk, holding a peeing baby and pushing a stroller with the press of a button.
She taught him how to grill.
Chyna took the "teach a man to fish" approach to feeding her bae and coached him through his first time at the helm of a grill.
"I ain't cooked a day in my life," he said in a Snapchat while Chyna gave technique tips from the sideline.
She introduced him to reptile friends.
"Don't be scared," Chyna told Kardashian in a recent Snap as he held a lizard creature that would have 100 percent terrified us. It might have been a small fear for him to conquer but, hey, out of your comfort zone is out of your comfort zone.
She reinvigorated his nightlife.
Kardashian stepped out for social activities less and less as he struggled with gaining weight. "I was just, like, not feeling myself [after] gaining a bunch of weight. It's just frustrating to me that I'm not happy going out if I'm not in good shape," he admitted to Lamar Odom in a 2013 episode of KUWTK. "Within the next six months if I don't get this together then I won't want to, like, hang around everybody." Kardashian's predications proved all too true, and he went through a phase of skipped social and family events. But over the last few months, Kardashian's stepped back into the club scene – with Chyna at his side.
The pair has been spotted out and about enjoying a busy nightlife, and have even started making promotional club appearances together.
She is welcoming him to fatherhood.
In early May, Kardashian and Chyna announced that they're expecting a new addition.
Becoming a dad will no doubt be the biggest of all the recent changes in the reality star's life. Luckily, Chyna has already given him a couple crash courses in hanging with tykes. He's been getting to know King Cairo, Chyna's 3-year-old son with rapper Tyga.
A source told PEOPLE that Kardashian has become even more open since finding out about the baby. "Rob could not be happier about having a baby with Blac Chyna," the source said. "He is a different person since they found out she is expecting."
"Rob has even become closer to his sisters because of it … [He] used to be in a shell and would ignore everyone's texts and calls, he was a recluse. Now, he is hitting everyone up in the family all the time," they added. "They will get random texts from Rob at all hours being funny and telling them how much he loves them. It is a total surprise, but a good one!"
