i always thought the prequels made obi-wan out to be too much of a saint. i refuse to believe that he was this perfect guy who made perfect decisions but somehow still ended up having the sky fall on him.

plus it would give so much more meaning to his sacrifice in ANH, a way to finally repent for his sins.

Obi and Padme is ridiculous when you see that he never shows any interest in here and that he was crushing on someone during The Clone Wars but never went far because he is a Jedi.

In the novelization it points out how some of the things Qui Gon did that he didn't approve of ended up rubbing off on him.

I'm not saying this theory is correct but it's my understanding that the Jedi rules don't prevent sex just love. So Obi could have had Padme on jumpoff status until she wanted something more that she got from Anikan simping. Because the marriage was secret and Ani didn't know Obi was hitting, Padme could have theoretically kept seeing them both without either knowing.

Prequels were a let down. Good action scenes but the Jedi Council were so stupid and usesless. Mace and Yoda (2 of the most powerful Jedi) were in Sidious' presence several times before the betrayal and they couldn't detect he was a force user/Sith?

Jedi turn into jobbers as soon as Order 66 is called in?

Anakin's dumb reason for turning and not getting to see him put in work and kill Jedi in his Vader armor.

If finding out Obi Wan was hitting Padme is what turned Anakin to the dark side was actually the case that would be way more interesting then what they actually did.
