even firefox has resorted to virtual begging

Mozilla has always done this. Wikipedia also does this. They actually are set up to survive off of donations. They aren't just people hoping for free money.

Winrar has been annoying with getting me to pay for the product. I might just buy it to stop those annoying pop-ups. Plus, I use winrar a ton, and have for years. They deserve my money.

OK, I looked at the Firefox start page and they did make that message really big. It was small a couple of days ago.

I remember not thinking twice about this because I used to think it was for a good cause (wikipedia come to mind). Now, whenever I see this kinda thing in kickstarter, twitch, patreon, etc., I either ignore it or at times I wish they fail.
