I can only speak on my experience and the churches I've attended. In those churches the idea that Jesus was black isn't a controversy, at worst people will say that his race doesn't matter but my church embraces the fact that he definitely wasn't white.

That's a cop out for people who don't want to denounce white Jesus. If it didn't matter what race he was then why is his race mentioned in the Bible.

But even in the Christianity that was taught to them they didn't totally what the slavemaster was teaching them (i.e. Nat Turner, Harriet Tubman). Those who did learn to read the Bible saw stories like Moses and letting my people go. Which inspired them to escape. So all Blacks didn't accept that version of Christianity which was used to dominate and control.

Now you're being silly by bringing up outliers like Hariet Tubman and Nat Turner. Of course there were black people who despite the propaganda saw throug the BS, but the vast majority to this day still believe in a white Jesus. It's why they have the white Jesus in their wall, the white Jesus on their cricifix, and the white Jesus as a picture in the front of their Bible.

But don't believe me. Go to talk some random black people this week and straight ask them what color was Jesus and let me know if I'm right or wrong.

I've have plenty of discussions on this subject and the majority of CHristians I know don't think Jesus was a blonde haired man from Europe. Now, older people maybe. That's your experiences but I believe it's limited. I've seen the complete opposite. I heard so many sermons where the race of Jesus is brought up and they say the direct opposite. I heard many times pastors say"How are you gonna hide a blonde haired, blue eyed Jesus in Egypt. He would stick out like a sore thumb". Many churches (especially newer church bldg. don't even have pictures on Jesus on their wall). Many protestants don't have crucifixes with Jesus on it but empty crosses (because we believe Jesus has risent and not on the cross). A lot Bible don't have pictures of Jesus either. Those old school family Bible did but most don't. (younger people don't even use Bible but read it on their phones of Kindle/Ipads). Again, I can't knock your experiences but it's not like that everywhere. Especially with younger CHristians.
