I think what most people feel:
I hope to have a healthy, happy, straight male or female child so I cam raise them like I was raised.
There is nothing wrong with that sentiment. I myself would not choose to have an LGBTQ child not because I would love them any less, but I imagine having a kid and needing to navigate being black and being the best parent possible. Its already hard. Then if you have a gay child there are extra internal and external pressures they deal with that I cant relate to. Then if they are trans, especially if MTF, I have to worry about the extra scrutiny and worrying if my child would be alright, dealing with their gender dysphoria, etc…its even more complex.
With all that said, the sentiment makes some people jump all the way out of the window about an issue that hasnt personally effected them. I may have a child the professes to be trans, take them to therapy and deny them as much as I want, then one day see a news report that my child jumped off a bridge because they needed support and not denial. Its way too easy for people not dealing with these issues to talk all this shyt. All that said, dont say shyt you cant stand on.
