Meanwhile in the religion corner it's the same old sorry ass shyt.:russ:

Have you read the story of the hoodrat who tied her baby to her bridal train, then started talking a bunch of 'washed in the blood' and 'covered in the blood' bullshyt? Wack Christians can be wack in their own special ways, too.

Can we have just one science thread where we don't do this?

I often respect religion, as much as I don't believe in it. I feel that it was made to make people better. But that's been long twisted into something different, darker, perhaps even despicable. I agree with messages of peace, understanding and love but I do NOT believe in the moral superiority and blatant collisions with scientifically backed logic. Written in every religious text are passages that keep its believers firmly in the dark, leading their lives in a ignorant and befuddled manner that both frustrates and saddens truthseekers such as us.
Granted, the sciency bunch amongst us might speak out harshly against religion, but see it as attempted justification if you will. Call us skeptics, but we merely often attempt to see your so called miracles in your books recreated in controlled settings. Some of the shyt in them books is downright fukking ludicrous and just goddamn impossible. I'm not bashing a particular religion, I bash them all with equal disdain.
Perhaps your religion (if you are religious) teaches you not to question. I, and I believe I speak for a few of the similarly minded members here, MUST question everything.
Having said that, you have every right to request exclusion of religious comment/slander in threads, just as much as we have the right to voice our opinions on what we see- no, what we know as extreme logical fallacy.

Astronomers find a new type of planet: The 'mega-Earth'

ergtrthtj.jpg

The newly discovered 'mega-Earth' Kepler-10c dominates the foreground in this artist's conception. Its sibling, the lava world Kepler-10b, is in the background. Both orbit a sunlike star. Kepler-10c has a diameter of about 18,000 miles, 2.3 times as large as Earth, and weighs 17 times as much. Therefore it is all solids, although it may possess a thin atmosphere shown here as wispy clouds. Credit: David A. Aguilar (CfA)
