Isnt there a weapon on one of the corpses on the ground? I cant remember. I dont remember having t and karate chop the werewolf.

This is what I've been trying to do

This is what I've been trying to do

So I went back and looked at my playthrough and the way to get a weapon is to get one in the hunters dream. So after the werewolf kills you, you are transported to the hunters dream. Go up the steps to the messengers coming out of the ground and they will give you a gift, where you choose from 1 of 3 weapons. Another messenger higher up the stairs will give you a firearm. After that go to the yharnam headstone and transport back to the 1st floor of the sick room.
