He has no point.

Niqqas still try to block dunks and get dunked on regularly. He tried to manufacture a culture of Tayshaun Prince running from Bron.

true, its certain players that may have egos that keep them from contesting dunks (getting embarrassed), its not a league wide thing.

The Wojo article goes back to my point last week about "do we enjoy sports."

If anything, his article represents the perversion in sports journalism where people simply can't enjoy the moment.

As someone said I think it's more that everyone is hyping up this dunk as if it's something so amazing...we've seen far more vicious dunks, and a big dunking over a small isn't that much to get that excited about.

Still :damn:'ed at the dunk tho :jawalrus:

I don't agree with you, how many alley-oops can you post similar to this one? Dunk was amazing.

But besides that, that was not what he's arguing. He's arguing against the whole idea of even celebrating dunking on someone, as if its destroying the core of basketball. He's acting like the perception of DeAndre's game has increased tenfold after the dunk. Both made up straw-man arguments against things that do not exist and no one has even said.

How many people loved Stromile Swift as a dunker for example? How many people ever thought Stromile was a good NBA player? Woj is a clown.

Yes dunk was amazing, but we've seen amazing dunks before, hell even this season, not to take anything away from THIS particular dunk, it's just that I don't see it being THAT better. But that's only my opinion, it's all subjective :yeshrug:

I didn't get that from reading the article tbh, for me he was more criticizing the fact that people are mocking Knight for trying to defend. Ain't nothing wrong with that, but in this twitter/youtube culture players might indeed get scared of being embarassed and not try to go up there any more (or just try to take a weak charge).

But I agree with you, ain't nothing wrong in enjoying a good old facial, it's just that reactions kind of seem a lil overboard on this particular dunk to me. :yeshrug:

:what:

That's why he's an idiot. People are laughing at the end result Knight became a victim of....not laughing at "he tried to defend."

Deandre's dunk reminded me of this one and I remember people clowning Damon Jones mercilessly for a year for it. No one had a problem with it, shyt even Jones was laughing at himself for trying to contest it.

I don't see anything particularly nasty about laughing at a dude for getting dunked on, its always been a part of basketball culture since dunking's been widespread. Fans love it, players love it, no one has a problem with it. Dude wants to start a new self righteous crusade, in an area that doesn't need one. Same guy who was spewing irrational amounts of vitriol towards Lebron for a year, he can't be taken seriously when his emotions get worked up.

And what is it? We can't celebrate a great play?

You know thats not what he meant.

He's saying Knight shouldn't be mocked relentlessly for having the balls to get in the way. Dude works hard.

People are posting tombstones, mocking Knight, turning him into a punchline...when he did somehting that most people wouldn't have the stones to do.

The dunk was sick, but instead of praising DeAndre, people seem a lil too fixated on mocking Knight

People are laughing at the end result of it. Why are you trying to rob people of it?

:mindblown:

"they're making him a punchline"....SO WHAT?

It'll pass....

The dunk hasn't even hit 24 hours, yet Wojo manufactures this bs.

:heh:

White people find a way to not enjoy sports at every turn.

Sas downplayed it too

Not everyone gets off on these dunks like schoolgirls
