Watching it now. Just the thought that some of the same people going on Facebook rants today talking about how this generation has no decency were probably grabbing tittles, raping women and starting riots at this thing is crazy.

I knew the concert was a shyt show but this doc really goes in depth on all the fukkery. It was basically Fyre Festival if the bands actually showed up and played

Also the late 90s was for sure an indicator of what the 2000s was about to bring

Doc is basically implying that Woodstock 99 showed some of the roots of the alt right, Trump supporters, etc. I think that’s an oversimplification but you can definitely tell most of the crowd cheering for DMX and yelling “my nygga” will one day grow up to call George Floyd a criminal on social media

My Pops Forever RIP
I’m glad the Doc at least shed light on how groundbreaking and amazing that performance was. But they also talked about how awkward it must’ve been for the handful of black folks there to hear tens of thousands of white people scream “my nygga!” repeatedly
The pod was kinda mixed on DMX the person, but they were debating whether he had the best show of the entire weekend simply because it was just him and his DJ.

Looking back at it, it's kinda wild how little hip-hop there was given where the music landscape was going.

I'm about to watch this doc, but from the Pod, I know enough about that to where you woulda thought I was there. They dropped a new episode today, and that shyt is 47 episodes deep on every little detail that weekend had.

and the founder of the show is an idiot because he tried to do Woodstock 50 and failed horribly.
