Imagine Daniel Bryan returning and aj styles vs Naka and a ronda debut with a Kurt angle mania return from over a decade not interesting especially with usos finally getting a main roster spot for the first time ever also streak vs title

It has potential to be 30 and 31 level but we’ll see. I can see most of the matches with intrigue underdeliver.

It has zero chance. There's gonna be some standout matches tho. The atmosphere of Mania 30 was just..different From everything else.

Yeah there’s no reason for taker to be here. He hasn’t been on tv in a year and has no reason to come back and the universal title match is indeed just as predictable as 2 years ago. You’d think anyone with common sense would use ending the streak as a direct springboard for someone else to make their own name as opposed to what they did. AJ vs Nakamura has buzz simply because of the two involved. I haven’t heard anything whatsoever about the actual build for the match though. Has it been good?

Hell No, there hasn't even been a build. Just Naka randomly coming up to AJ every week smiling & joking

And the Taker match was trash

This is like how people talk about Mania X, lol. If you've never seen it you would swear it was epic the whole way thru... then you see the whole show and its like "couple good matches, great story with the main event guy". It is the best one of the last 5 years, but that about it. Coulda been a lot better with just a couple things switched around (like Shield vs Wyatts which woulda been extra fire), but I guess Billy & Road Dogg needed their payday.

I said ATMOSPHERE. The card wasn't filled with great matches but everything just worked. The entire weekend just felt big and important. The HOF ceremony felt like a huge deal that year. It was also the first Mania to be broadcast on the Network. It had the historic moment at the start with Austin, Rock and Hogan, the great opening Bryan match, the shock of the streak ending and then the Bryan culmination at the end. Wrestlemania is about moments more than anything.

Yet the marks who watch chinese play fighting can't name ONE story going on there besides "two fake fighters having the best fake fight" then shaking hands at the end to "this is wrasslin *clap clap clap clap clap*" chants

Could be an all time great event from a match perspective despite the terribly shytty booking on the road to the event. I have a real problem with the lack of story for the majority of the upper card matches.

Depending on how they lay out the preshow, there might not be much of a built in piss break unlike previous years where you only had a few matches worth watching.

It's going to be great in-ring but it's not going to have that big payoff feel we should be getting.

Im curious. What is the payoff that we SHOULD be getting?

Cause to me, at this point, there are too many cynical people, too many opinions in different directions and no outcome that makes fans happy for us to know what we SHOULD be getting anymore.

So, what would be the big payoff?

Well, we have two totally different opinions on the point of wrestling then. There is nothing wrong with predictability in wrestling as long as the stories are being told the right way.

Everyone knew Austin was winning the title at Mania 14 but that didn't ruin anyone's perception of the event because a satisfying story was being told.

I was probably more hype for last year's, and 28/30/31 had better builds for sure.

One way it is good is the unpredictability. Other than Roman vs Brock, and Rousey making Steph tap, I'm not sure where they're gonna go with things.

Nothing else really stood out, but everything else was watchable and not boring like the rest of the WM X card.

And that opening segment with Rock/Austin/Hogan was an all time classic.
