Where in history has diversity worked and not resulted in subjugation or unending conflict?

India is probably the most historically diverse regions in terms of race, ethnicity, culture and religion. Millions died in the Muslim separation alone. The rig Vedas setup an enforced racial heirchary.

Living in California has taught me one thing about diversity. Diversity means a bunch of different races that stick to their own kind and rather not interact with anyone else. The only interracial relationships ,whether romantic or not, are between white males and asian women. Besides that, barely anyone has friends of another race. Barely anyone goes to a part of town where there race doesn't belong.

And the most exclusive and covertly discriminatory group are the latte liberals/tech workers who refuse to associate with anyone who doesn't think, act and look like them.

Yeah California is just awful. The country should be more like West Virginia, Mississippi or Kansas.

Nobody's advocating for unchecked, unbridled diversity in all ways. Some academic institutions are simply saying that after a threshold of intelligence is passed, and moral/academic values are affirmed, they will optimize for other dimensions such as diversity of thought and experience.

Nobody's saying we should empty a super-max prison into our colleges because they have diverse views about murder.

The most stable nation-states in the world today are the product of diverse groups coming together and forming a shared identity while still maintaining their uniqueness. Americans tend not to realize this, but so-called "homogenous" countries like Britain, France, and Germany have had very pronounced cultural differences among their comprising regions.

The fact that conservatards think "Balkanization" is a consequence of diversity betrays a basic misunderstanding of what diversity is. Balkan cultures really aren't that diverse from each other. At least, they are no more diverse than a Parisian is from an Alsatian. Yugoslavia broke up because of political seeds that were planted in WW2, not because of diversity. Balkanization is simply the continuous breakup of a large polity into progressively smaller ones.

The only "homogenuous" countries I could think of in Europe is maybe Iceland, Norway, Sweden (until recently at least) but I even doubt that. All the other countries have had various populations come through, with different languages, religions, habits, etc.

Think about this. The prototypical example of a conservative state wanting to secede from the United States is Texas. And yet Texas is much more diverse than almost any state. One would think that conservatives who want a white Texas should want to stay within a country whose population is whiter than Texas's population. But it's the other way.

I have no problem with Mexicans migrating to US, so long as it's done legally.
