Instead of seeing a 7'1" super athletic big, who, by all accounts is an extremely hard worker and an endless hustler, they say a KD knockoff with not nearly enough shooting touch or ball handling ability to be KD.

That's why after I saw him play live last summer I knew not to listen to the negative backlash. You find a 7'1" foot tall player, with elite athletic ability, 0 injury flags, who actually loves the game, works hard, hustles, shows flashes of insane skill, and is only 19 you gotta take him.

Thon will never be KD but he could one day be an allstar C/PF.

I think ppl just saw the physical resemblance and determined he was the next KG. I assumed he would struggle at first with his jumper. but..... He is a 7 ft 1 player that cant rebound or block shots. He should get 7 boards and 2 blocks a game just because of his height. I mean c'mon.

He's athletic in terms of lateral quickness, but isn't explosive and is very weak and worst of all his frame doesn't look like it can add too much weight.


Lowe's piece on him makes it even more bleak, he's on pace for the worst rebounding season by a 7 footer ever, he's basically an even softer version of Meyers Leonard.
