Show is all over the place so far - too many threads for potential story lines, and no focus on concise story telling.

I got to ep 8 but honestly i was done by 7. The premise isn’t bad but the acting is mostly atrocious, particularly and especially by the Spaniards.

And while I’m all for the mom essentially being the key cog, they allow her too many plot conveniences to shine at the expense of other characters, particularly her son (breh with the dreads).

The writing could’ve just made him more formidable enough to win on his own merit with his inherent advantages + all the buildup talk about strategy, but instead each one felt cheap and unearned. He should’ve been a strong “rogue” class combatant but instead he’s meh.

Which hurts the show imo because the actual gladiator stuff is far and few between. It’s more about chariot racing.

Now maybe the final 2 eps of the show changes all that but i basically lost interest in continuing.
