Those who work/worked minimum wage, did you deserve more? Looking back, would you pay yourself more?

my very first job was paying me 5.75 an hour working in retail 2004, at that time it should have been a least 8.00

no one didnt wanna hire a 18 year old kid in my city, had to get what i could. I wasnt happy with the wage but i wasnt gonna back to sell drugs thats for sure.18 with no help
I definitely deserved more. I was 16 and I was basically running a subway by myself for $5.15.
The owner dude wouldn't even show up for days. I basically had to run he store, do schedules,opening and closing prep/cleanup. Deal with customer complaints, manage the inventory.
Everything. All for $5.15
