Coffee, tea or mayhem?
A brawl erupted at 30,000 feet Wednesday when five female passengers on a Baltimore-to-Los Angeles flight got into it over loud music being blasted on a boom box, authorities said.
The action happened on Spirit Flight 141 when two drunk women were playing tunes loudly on their portable stereo, officials told the LA Times.
When other passengers asked them to lower the volume, the music lovers declined, with one allegedly threatening, “What are you going to do?”
“Then to provoke the other customer, they were holding up their boom box in the air, waving it around,” said Spirit Airlines spokesman Paul Berry.
Three other women approached the boom-box players and all hell broke loose, officials said.
LAPD officers met the plane when it landed and took the five offending women off the flight. No one was immediately arrested or charged.
LAX police were notified and met the crew when it landed, Officer Rob Pedregon said. The five women involved in what he called the “mutual combat situation” were pulled off the plane, he said.
