It’s why “I AM A MAN” worked but “BLM/Kaepernick/etc” got so much backlash. You have to use their tools against them. You can’t delineate yourself into making it easier for them to cast you aside.
People used to understand this before social media really took off because they were trying to actually win the debate. Now it’s just branding exercises devoid of leadership. Look at these IMMIGRANTS with AMERICAN FLAGS. 20 years ago we understood this.
