This is MUCH better than citizen's trust. At least they giving .65% on savings vs .05% at Citizens Trust

Yeah the rates are low at some of these banks. Which is why I'm for more online banks. Brick and Mortor banks have to deal with more expenses so their rates can't be as high.

I don't want any black owned bank to open up more locations. Online is the way to go.

This, in addition to quality teleconferencing support, is paramount to me because I'm in a locale where there aren't ANY black owned banks. I don't visit my local bank unless there's an issue. Since my money will be in another state, I need to be ensured that quality and prompt service can be provided by any of these online banks.
Keep another account for convenience.

cool and nice gesture. But banks are just necessary evils. Let's get better health and life insurance polices.

These nyggas will cake off of blacks fears and confusion.

This is a step in the right direction.

But that black bank still has to borrow money from the Zionist central bank.

I just checked Liberty Bank's website & did a Google Search. They don't have any locations in Texas.

Here's the link on info on Black banks in the U.S.: U.S. Map of Black-Owned Banks

  1. Faith Cooperative Credit Union – Dallas, Texas
  2. Oak Cliff Christian Credit Union – Dallas, Texas
  3. Mount Olive Baptist Church Credit Union – Arlington, Texas

You can also set-up an online bank account with OneUnited Bank

nikka make me shut up:umad: instead of dikk riding every single black thing, read the fine print before you sign up, that's how we get scammed. All because its black made, doesn't mean it can't be used against us, like Bet or hip hop.

Too many black people accept whatever is given to them no questions asked. Problem is we get trolled too frequently to not expect some bullshyt from this.
Or maybe you want things to be easy? Is it that hard to check for validation, so we don't get screwed later... again?
Remember black people are real quick to stab each other in the back. How do we know these black banks won't sell out? How do we know this isn't a trap? Do we wait and find out? Is it impossible to do background checks?

But nah right accept everything people give you no questions asked, and tell people to stfu for questioning. Cmon breh Dogs are smarter than that.

If this is legit than it's legit but what if its not? I guess wait and see huh? Its only money, whats the worst that can happen?

So you think money's going to get stolen? Why do business with black people at all if we're quick to stab each other in the back? What bought you to the coli?

That L.A bank? That got taken over by espanols. I wouldn't bank there.
They have a branch in Los Angeles but their headquarters is in Boston. They have a Miami location as well.

The owner is black. I have googled their executive staff:

They have 7 board of directors...2 of them are white, 5 black.
They have 7 senior managers...2 of them are also white but the rest are black.

Which Los Angeles location did you go to? Looks like they had 4 but now have 2...one on Crenshaw and one in Compton. The two that closed were in Inglewood and Pasadena.

Black-owned bank in Mobile seeing increase in new accounts

Black-owned bank in Mobile seeing increase in new accounts

MOBILE, ALA (WPMI) — After recent officer-involved shootings across the country, some people hoping to express frustrations and make an impact on corporate America's wallet.

It's a grassroots effort and a recent call in the African-American community for people to open bank accounts at black-owned banks.

Brenda Spencer drove more than 50 miles from Century, Florida to Mobile just to open a bank account.

"It's a long drive but it's nowhere near the sacrifices we've made before," Spencer said.

She says she choose Commonwealth National Bank because it was the closest black-owned bank in her area.

"We need to take our money and we need to have a voice with our money," she said. "Protesting doesn't seem to help, writing letters don't seem to help, marching doesn't help so maybe we have our own money it will help."

Spencer isn't the only person putting miles on the road to stop at Commonwealth. Board Chairman Jacquitta Green says they're getting new clients from everywhere.

"Just this evening we've had three people drive over from Pensacola," Green said.

Green says this week the inquires have been pouring in.

"The inquires online alone for the last week have reached over 50, and more local people who already live in the Mobile area just coming in to our various branches to open up accounts," she said.

According to the Federal Reserve there are 23 black-owned banks in the U.S.

In the past five days more than 8,000 people have opened new accounts with a black-owned bank in Atlanta. Green says this is a positive step.

"It just allows like-minded people to come together and pool their resources and put them in their own communities," she said.

Saturday July 30th Commonwealth National Bank will open their branch on St. Stephen's street from 9 a.m. until noon.

That's for the public to come in and get more information on the accounts they offer.
