Thishas been suggested several times before and was rejected. They basically said the rep system gets abused by all the fakkit rep boosting cliques and that itd be too easy for people to gang up on posters so they cant make threads.

This idea is pretty good, although there are decent posters in the red who got there because they have controversial views and aren't afraid to express them. Therefore, I don't think that everyone who's in the red should get their thread-creating privileges taken away. Part of what makes message boards great are discussions where highly different opinions are expressed. Sometimes, these conversations get heated and people neg each other. If a new poster gets into the red because they were outspoken about a hot topic, but is sincere and not truly horrible, they should be able to make threads even if they're a bit in the red.
But if a poster is around -5,000 to -10,000 or more, it's probably because they really suck, and should not be able to make threads. Hell, I wouldn't mind seeing posters who reach -10,000 get outright banned.

Mods stated that rep doesn't hold any weight to them. In that case, they should just eliminate rep altogether.
