It just shows how absurd the whole thing is.Now they are going back and making Neanderthals this advanced race![]()
It just shows how absurd the whole thing is.
The term "advanced" doesn't make much sense.
Everything alive is at its terminal branches of existence.
We're just as evolved as fish that are living today. Complexity is a different matter however.

Thats not what I said.See this part I dont get, by that logic, what you're saying is that humans can't be precursors to any distinct future species![]()

Here, I'll save everyone the trouble:
"Neanderthals were smarter than homo sapiens, you know. The only reason they died off was because homo sapiens killed them all."
"Are you suggesting that people with neanderthal blood are more intelligent?"
"Well, clearly we were more inclined to befriend them than kill them..."
TL;DR: Not-so-subtle racism.
"Weird. You'd think it would be the other way around."
"Why?"
"Just think about it."
TL;DR: Even-less-subtle racism.
"Yeah, fukking figures."
"Did you even read the article?"
"I don't need to read a bunch of [EXPLETIVES REMOVED] filthy [EXPLETIVES REMOVED] with their [EXPLETIVES REMOVED] and [EXPLETIVES REMOVED]."
"Yeah, just look at the crime statistics in America."
TL;DR: Overt racism trending into off-topic discussions with racist undertones.

At some future period, not very distant as measured by centuries, the civilized races of man will almost certainly exterminate, and replace, the savage races throughout the world. At the same time the anthropomorphous apes, as Professor Schaaffhausen has remarked, will no doubt be exterminated. The break between man and his nearest allies will then be wider, for it will intervene between man in a more civilized state, as we may hope, even than the Caucasian, and some ape as low as a baboon, instead of as now between the negro or Australian and the gorilla.

TIL it's racist when you say that black people are part Neanderthal and it's racist when you say that they aren't. This is why white people get nervous talking about this shyt.

its when you try and draw conclusions from it without actually attempting to understanding the science.

I thought slavery was why white people get nervous talking about this shyt ._.
MeloJelo [score hidden] 43 minutes ago
Or the 100+ years following the end of slavery . . . at least in the US.
flukshun [score hidden] 40 minutes ago
pretty much everyone had slavery at some point. it's a question of how we've gotten on since then.
MeloJelo [score hidden] 27 minutes ago
And the answer to that second question is, "not so great."

It's not about saying they are or aren't, it's about how and why you say it.
flukshun [score hidden] 41 minutes ago
is there a how and why which would not be grounds for being labelled a racist?
MeloJelo [score hidden] 27 minutes ago
Yes. This article does a good job of it.

There are many, many white people who speak freely about this stuff. It's the white people with ulterior motives for speaking about it that are nervous.
Thats not what I said.
You can have "processors" but to call them "advanced" is flawed.
