Here's the thing, that might have made sense hundreds or thousands of years ago. But by now everyone on the planet is aware of Christianity and can look into it by themselves if they so choose. Just about anyone can walk into a church and have a talk with the priest to see what Christianity is about. So the efforts to 'spread the word' are misplaced.

My perspective has always been "do whatever you want, but don't piss on my leg." So theists are free to believe whatever they want, but I demand that same tolerance in return.

edit: And I always thought as Christians your main goal was to live life in accordance to God's laws...
I agree with your perspective but that's our duty...you have the right to say no just like in anything else but don't judge us cuz of what we believe

At the beginning of mean streets
This is exactly what I'm talking about. As Christians our main goal is to evangelize or spread the good word. Now I know there are many out there that take this to the extreme and over do it but atheists and agnostics are always quick to call people who have religion (especially Christians) slaves, or brainwashed, or fools. Yet ya'll get on us for judging you for not believing or wondering if God is real :beli:. My thing is everybody has a right to believe in what they want to . It seems like atheists are some of the most closed minded people on Earth cuz they want proof of everything. I'm a Christian but I've been open minded and have wondered a lot of things but thats where faith comes in. So let me ask do you atheists or agnostics believe in faith? :patrice:
Close minded b/c you are being asked for proof? :skip: How Ima follow a religion if I'm not even sure it's true? Seems stupid to waste your life relying on blind faith.

Plus, God will forgive me. :sas1:

Out here in my damn drawls
Also why do you always criticize Christians or other religions about our beliefs and judge us yet ya'll do the same?

I don't know if you're a black american or not, but Christians get attacked called out for a few reasons

1. It's the default religion of the United States

2. The black community is extremely bullheaded when it comes to the church.

3. Getting judged by hypocrites who practice christianity without actually practicing christianity (which is kind of a good thing otherwise mental wards would be packed)

4. People condoning the bullshyt in those books as absolute gospel while at the same time trying to pick and choose what is and isn't literal, and when to use common sense. Who got the divine sparknotes :dwillhuh:?

I can guarantee that less than 1% of "religious" people in America could turn around and live in a theocracy, but they still go on a spit that bs :smh:

But how can He forgive you if you don't ask? :sas2:

But again you're judging and that's what you're saying you can't stand about Christians. People can believe whatever they want. You're just proving my point without answering my question. Plus The Coli is a black site and mostly everybody up here is an atheist right? :mjpls: so clearly the black community isn't as bull headed as you think. It seems like atheists think just cuz there isn't proof of anything there is no God and if you believe there is you're an idiot. Am i wrong? :sas1:

I used to be heavily into God, but as I got older, and more things started to happen in my life, I began to question it more and more. Science can prove things, religion can't. Man made God before God Made Man anyway. It just doesn't add up. Life is so much better when you make it your business to become a go getter instead of praying to a man in the sky to help you do things.

Religion has become a business, and is used more for shaming and control than it is for enlightenment. Most "Christians" don't even live by the Christian Customs and Traditions, but are fast as fukk to call you out when you say you're an atheist, even though you both live the same way :beli:

You fukk, smoke, curse, and scheme just like me, but the second I say I'm an atheist, it's an all out shame war :camby:

This coming from a former devout Christian, who actually followed the word, and knows the bible front and back, AND converted to Jehovah's witness at a point in my life.

If I ever have kids, I plan on letting them choose their own way, no reason why you should force your kids to believe in the farce that is religion.

It took me a while to fully become an atheist though. My faith was once really strong. :upsetfavre:

But the more things that started happening, and the more I had a pastor in my face telling me "this was in God's plan", the less I began to believe, and the more I began to drift.

So you believe man came from monkeys? :mjpls:What has science proven or debunked when its come to religion? Where's your proof that man made God? :ohhh:And you can still be a go getter and a Christian.

Because religion is a whole bunch of arbitrary bullshyt and rules, you don't need it to be a moral person. Plus you gotta think for your damn self, life ain't supposed to be about saving yourself from some imaginary hell. :comeon:

About God, I dont beleive in none of that shyt the facts are backwards :ahh:

It's really the ridiculousness of the bible, and the hypocrisy of Christians when they reference it. I believe that there is a deity. Something had to create the universe to host the Big Bang, etc. But the book of Genesis plays out like a fairy tale. I don't think the God in the bible is the real one.
