They're absolutely useless now.
Why? thread tags weren't meant to write " he a faq" "he a bytch" "fuk this homo" , they meant to be able to find threads easier. Using them to rip on ppl makes them pointless and unproductive

But did you ever consider that someone else could do the same to find threads easier, not just the thread starter?
Is it possible that a thread starter could choose whether or not to allow open tagging and set closed tagging as a default?
Good idea? Bad idea?
