I was just riding around listening to “King of da Playaz Ball” and thinking that Kingpin Skinny Pimp has GOT to be in the top ten most sampled rappers of all time lol. Dude’s bars are EVERYWHERE in random hooks and it’s only increasing.

Aye, it’s funny you say this because that nikka been on the biggest career re-run thanks to all these Phonk dj’s and producers sampling his shyt.

This nikka got like 2.5M listeners on Spotify right now. That’s more than a lot of rappers that’s relevant today, even though breh was mostly an underground southern rapper when he was out lol.

I was wondering why Long Story was taken off Skinny Pimp’s album.

:yeshrug: In all honesty, when everybody (including your own brother) starts to leave you for the same reason, there’s probably some merit to it. Playa Fly and Blac saw that shyt from the jump and moved accordingly.

Him and koopsta probably the go to sample voice, if you are making Phonk or trap beats. Something about that grainy lofi crunchy country ass voice over some 808s and horror theme samples :whew:

I remember when 3 6 was a local underground act. I stayed around the Memphis area back and forth from the 90s to 01.
I never thought they were going to blow up. I was more focused on the mainstream stuff.
I remember When the Smoke Clears album went platinum and they put a billboard in Memphis commemorating the moment :ohhh:

Tommy Wright did a show here in Birmingham earlier this year, it was basically in a loft apartment  but it was sold out nevertheless.
