10 Things You Didn't Know About Joe Frazier
He was practically blind his left eye by 1974: In the '60s, shards of metal landed in his eyes while training with a faulty speed bag in Philadelphia. His trainers kept it a secret so he could continue to fight, but a decade later, he developed cataracts from the scar tissue and lost most of his vision in his left eye.
And Frazier went to the grave hating that trainer too, he never forgave that guy and he basically saved his vision. Joe was willing to go blind to beat Ali that's how bad he wanted it, that's terrifying when you put in it perspective. It was deeper than boxing with Frazier.

23:16 Ali's flurry will always have me go :krs:
This fight was brutal from start to finish and modern fighters will look at this like ":whew: thank goodness there are no more 15 round fights".
For heavyweights to go at that pace for 15 rounds is ridiculous :wtf:
The crazy thing is that in the post fight conference despite this near death experience Joe Frazier wanted to fight Ali again.:merchant: :whoa::damn:
The man was an absolute warrior

still the most brutal heavyweight title fight of all time..its amazing how much punishment they both took..not normal at all
Only other one that I remember comes close is ken norton vs larry holmes, and George Foreman v Ron Lyle

We will never see another fight like this again. They were giving everything they had and then some. Without a doubt if the internet and social media was out back then, the entire web would have broken down.
