Ok so about a month ago there was an amazing thread

http://www.thecoli.com/threads/thro...-new-method-in-op.140770/page-41#post-5350410

So now we need to dissect a way to go pass At&t,Verizon,t-mobile, sprint. They run humans right now.
Since the internet is man's best friend im sure there has to be an alternative.

The basic notion is to go to virgin mobile , metro , boost , etc,
or the free texting apps out there .

I know google plus is a nice way to communicate , takes place for texting and facetime .

Does anyone have any knowledge on how we can steer away from this monopoly that is taking place?

unfortunately i don't , but hopefully this thread can nature the answer

I have sprint, but have been off contract for years. the way I do it is buy a phone off craigslist, then sell the previous phone via craigslist. it has been working for years for me. I am trying to debate what Imma do with the new iphone. I hear they are offering to pay for my old iphone.

there are unadvertised plans that are cheap and good deals

maybe someone who works for the big 4 can shed some light on them

Here in the U.S. whether you go directly with the carrier or one of there MVNOs you are still dealing with them. Depending on how you use your phone the limits the MVNO places on data and roaming, it may not be a good deal. Me I use to much data and tether all the time plus stream music in my car, so MVNO are out for me.

To be honest, you leaving money on the table. With any carrier besides Tmob in the US..you dont get a discount if you arent on contract. When you first get on contract, you make the cell company take that hit on givin you the phone at a subsidized price. Say for instance, the iphone 5s 64gb is 850..but you pay 400. Sprint took that 400 dollar hit, and you pay it back during the term of the contract.
Another example, if you bought that 64gb at 400, you can guarantee that you get 400 for it if you want to sell in a year and get something else. But if you buy it full price...you still might only get 400, so its a big loss

BUT if you dont reup ya contract, then you basically payin subsidized prices AND paying full price for ya phone. Best bet to do if you know you are going to stay with the carrier is either A: get a new phone on contract and sell it for a profit while keepin ya old one, or B: Get a new phone you want. Otherwise they gettin over on you...

Contacts get me hot ,

But the forced Data Plans makes me want to kill.

The avg price for a data plan is $30. 30 bucks a month for using internet where there is no wifi.
Nd in this day in age how hard is it to find wifi , if you really need it then and thereand looked.
How many times a month do you come in that situation, where you truly couldnt find wifi and was thankful for spending 30?
If your at school, home, work most of the day , forced data plans are robbery.

umm pay off your phone completely and your contract free on tmobile. You can always sell your phones for a decent amount to upgrade...i mean they have the payment plans as well so you don't have to do it all at once

Im all for penny-pinching and saving a buck but some things in life, you're just better off paying the price for something legit and verified. Having a phone is a necessity in this day and age, count that as one of your basic needs/expense along with food and shelter breh. Im sure that $600-$750 a year you pay for your phone bill won't break you and if it is, you got bigger things to worry about :usure:
