Nice to see Mac Dre get love from even the esteemed homie @IronFist .

This was my introduction to Mac Dre (outside of that song he recorded from jail for Mac Mall's "Illegal Business?" album).

I was hooked instantly. Had the hook as my phone's ringtone for like 3 straight years. :wow:

Still tell folks ":francis: not my job." til this very day.

what's his BEST album?

That's going to be hard to say . . . it's largely to do with your taste. As you'll see above this post someone picked Rapper Gone Bad - because Mac Dre has three distinctive stylistic reinventions over the course of his 15 year career you'll find varying

For you I am going to suggest you go straight to the source of the material you're already pleased

The Genie of the Lamp from 2004, that very same day he also released Ronald Dregan: Dreganomics - those albums go together like night and day - they represent the start of him coming into superstar mold

Then go back to 1993 for the release of the Young Black Brotha album . . a completely different Mac Dre but it's a classic album in a more conventional hip-hop sense. There's great cuts on there

Getting into Mac Dre's catalog is like discovering the work of The Beatles for the first time. You might brush it off the first time you hear but once you get it into it . . .

what's his BEST album?

kinda depends, really. Lotta folks don't like his work past the point that he moved from The Bay to Sacremento and started to get a little more... out there.

edit: see wally wisdom's above post. lol

Personally I like his last 4 or 5 albums the best

Thizzle Washington
Al Boo Boo
Ronald Dregan: Dreganomics
Genie of the Lamp
The Game is Thick vol 2 (least favorite of this bunch)
Da US Open (with mac mall)
