I think Ras got caught up trying to add too much of a street element into his music

and kind of lost his identity as an emcee in the process

Dude tried his hardest to crossover as an all around entertainer and it never happened.

Huge Ras fan as he inspired my user name. Soul On Ice is still a 5/5 to me.I got on to Ras due to the Source giving him verse of the month for his verse on Rasassination. This was during a time where I'd just hit the CD store and cop any new ones that dropped. Some reason I kept hesitating and finally picked up Rasassination CD and it blew me away. I was scared off of Soul On Ice because of it only getting 3 mics in The Source but loved the second CD so much I had to scoop it. Found it in some off brand ass mall and played that shyt religiously. Folks in my school thought I was nuts for how much I was hyping it and everybody I let hear shyt on it cause they wasn't feeling the beats.
