2009 is the best class they'll ever have. In my eyes, it's the last real class that covered all bases whilst still maintaining credibility as far as being revering people that were lyrical.
Sure, none of them are superstars (Wale & B.o.B are the only ones who've had mainstream success) but they've all got good bodies of work (for the most part) and they were the front runners of the Internet mixtape era.
- Blu is a top 5 talent of all time and he (as well as Dirty Science) laid the foundation for TDE to flourish.
- Mickey Factz is an elite lyricist.
- Asher Roth is dope but got a raw deal by his label trying to market him as a frat boy
- Cudi has a cult like following
- Wale's debut album is one of my favourite projects from that era
- Charles Hamilton could have been so much more
- Corny music aside, BoB can rap his ass off and made good mixtapes
- Currensy dropped projects with Alchemist and has a loyal fanbase
They you have Ace Hood and Cory Gunz that had mild mainstream exposure and are respectable artists in their own right.
