Ryan Helsley

2025 STL ERA: 3.00
2025 NYM: 7.58 and it was way worse he only recently went like 6 scoreless.

Mullins

2025 BAL slashline: .229/.305/.433
2025 NYM slashline: .183/.286./.283
You could say Helsley single handedly cost them the playoffs spot. He was terrible in any meaningful spot.

I can't be the only one that feels more relieved than angry or sad at this outcome in the moment. Of course, im angry given the expectations and the outcome, but they havent been an enjoyable watch in months.

Yep
So glad, I don't gotta comptemplate spending 100s of dollars for postseason tix, or wasting my time watching a gutless team.

During the 8 game losing streak I made peace this team isn't it.
They had a lot of pitching injuries but the position player core isn't a winning one. They need to switch it up.

Fitting ending. Team didn't deserve to make the playoffs they've been shytty since June.

Pitching, both starting and bullpen (outside of of McLean and Diaz) been a major disappointment most of the season. Bats went cold during long stretches of the season, and in the final game of the season they can't even put up a single run. Absolutely fitting :beli:
